We call it a real-time variometer because the indication delay is comparable to a mechanical variometer.
Combined with our innovative filtering, the needle movement can be perfectly adjusted.
A crisp, fast and accurat indication makes it easy to catch the core of the thermal; even at high speed.
Timeless design
Gold, brass, stainless steel. A timeless design.
Gold plated dial and yellow needle is not only chosen for its appearance but also to give
maximum contrast and legibility in all light.
Analog needle, which start from the middle, further enhances the legibility.
The multicoated glass gives a reflection free, and distraction free, view of the beautiful instrument dial.
The small OLED display is easy to read and gives you the information you need.
Efficent. Small. Integrated
57mm aviation standard instrument. Power: 25-55mA @ 12VDC. Dimension: 63x63x75mm excl. connectors. Built-in speaker or connection for external. Weight: 290g Made in France
Innovative Speed-To-Fly
We have further refined the Speed-To-Fly functionality.
In Speed-To-Fly mode our instrument will point at the current, actually flown, McCready number. For exampel, if the needle points at zero you are flying at MC 0 which is best glide ratio. If the needle points at one you are flying at MC 1 etc.
It is more useful for experienced pilots and easier for beginners. It also removes the need to constantly change McCready number.
Better speed control with less pilot load.
We call it "The LÖFGREN McCready-Speed Indicator".
Refined. Beautiful. Solid
Our variometer is highly refined; a pleasure to use and own.
The input encoder has a solid feel and a positive input click, thanks to its large diameter and bushing supported axel. The encoder can be used with only one finger, welcome for pilots with short reach.
The sound is soft and familiar; with a tone that is easily heard in the cockpit even at low volumes.
The menu system operates as fast as you can give it input.
Custom Pressure Probes
While our variometer works well with a classic TEC probe we have put extra effort developing the electronic compensation. Electronic compensation brings several benefits such as reduced drag and less measurement noise.
Electronic compensation is very reliant on good pressures to work well. As such we have developed a set of pressure probes which supply excellent pressures to use with electronic compensated variometers. Made from anodized aluminium and CNC made brass fittings.
In The Box
Included with the variometer is a high quality cable harness including an outside temperature sensor. Included is also the knob with two lengths of set screw, if you wish to have true one finger operation.
Our custom probes is an option.
The set consist of two probes, one static- and one total-pressure. They require the glider to have two probe connections, in multi-tube connectors only one port will be used. Length and connection piece will be custom made to fit your glider.
